Orange TAFE Mental Health Month Youth Expo & Community BBQ

Murdi Paaki Drug & Alcohol Network (MPDAN) and Lyndon Outreach Service (LOS) staff hosted a drug and alcohol Health Promotion stand at the TAFE Mental Health Month Youth Expo and Community BBQ on 14th October. More than two hundred people were in attendance, including local youth and service providers.

Julie Proctor, Program Manager (Health Pro- motion), Holly Thomas (Child & Family Work- er), Amanda Boon (D&A Case Worker), Michael Walker (Senior D&A Educator) and Sara Stanley (Child & Family Worker) distributed over three hundred individual re- sources, conducted twenty five standard drink demonstrations and over sixty beer goggle demonstrations on the day.

The event was a great opportunity to engage with young people, TAFE students and other professionals whilst discussing alcohol and drug issues. Thanks must go to Rachael Buckerfield at Orange TAFE who coordinated a well-organised event.
